THE CVIC STORY
Anthony Oliver
Founding Executive Director Streetwise newspaper 1993-2005
aimed to help homeless and at-risk individuals achieve self-sufficiency. Our practice is deeply rooted in Chicago’s low to moderate-income community CVIC – Native Son’s Dream- Lifestyle on the Grove CVIC’s mission to promote personal growth through community inspires me deeply.Growing up in Woodlawn, Chicago, during the challenging 1960s, I witnessed the power of social change.
Now at 65, I understand that with determination and support, anything is possible. My journey from Streetwise to CVIC has been enriched by inspiring individuals like our CEO, Corey Oliver, and dedicated team members. Together, we make a significant impact in our community. CVIC is launching a new initiative to enhance economic stability in Woodlawn. “Lifestyle on the Grove” is an 81-unit mixed-use development that combines commercial and residential spaces, strategically located at 6501-6543 South Cottage Grove. We are ready to make a meaningful impact in Chicago once again.

This isn’t just my vision; it’s an initiative called “Stairsteps to Greater Self-Reliance,” aimed at uplifting the least among us. CVIC is launching a new development, Lifestyle on the Grove, an 81-unit mixed-use project located at 6501-6543 South Cottage Grove. Once again, CVIC is ready to make a significant impact on Chicago, reinforcing the social fabric of Woodlawn.
Please join us on our journey as we celebrate the grand opening of the new Obama Presidential Library all summer. Look for our podcast Lifestyle@TheIntersection, “Mastering Capital and Commerce, coming soon. This is a journey of “bottom-up economic
